Excellent News…

Work will begin this Monday 21st on the new build public convenience at the Playstool. A trench will be dug to house the water and utilities during this coming week. Level access to the main park will still be in use but this will be through the Centenary Gardens and not past the children’s playground. The portaloo may also not be available during this week.

Once the trench has been dug the site will remain dormant for a couple of weeks until the main building work starts but public access will be opened again during this period. The reason for the lull in works is the necessity to get initial water pipes laid and registered for connection which is done by the water authority. This approval will take several weeks so the contractor has kindly agreed to lay the trench ahead of the main works schedule.

Borden Parish Council will keep you updated on the works as they progress. There has been massive support and requests for a new toilet especially as so many public conveniences have been closed. This will benefit all the users of the park and playground and is an exciting addition to our well-used park and gardens.

If you have any questions please contact the Parish Clerk who will respond.
